There’s a saying I learned in journalism school: “A reporter’s knowledge is a mile wide and an inch deep.” I’ve certainly found this to be true of my time in Hudson Valley newsrooms, where editorial staff members often wear many hats.

I’ve bounced between working the late night copy desk, general assignment reporting, the cops and courts beats, election coverage, business profiles, community events—whatever I was assigned to take care of on any given day. I know a little bit about a lot of stuff, and it’s served me well in my career and life.
